The (r)Evolution of the Empulse
I must say, Brammo makes it really easy to be a fanboy. In 2010 (when the Empulse was first revealed) I got sent an official Brammo hat just for actively blogging about Brammo. Now I just recently received this wonderful book about the evolution of the Empulse. A behind the scenes look at the evolution of the Empulse from prototype to production version.
As you can imagine the book covers the development of the first Empulse prototype, both versions of the Empulse RR, and finally the race proven technology that went into the production version, the Empulse R. Lots of beautiful pictures, concept art, and engineering renders to drool over, and lots of interesting pieces of information pertaining to some of the reasoning behind the revised design:
“While the original Empulse performed very well, there were issues to be resolved. The seat was uncomfortable for extended periods, foot pegs too high for many riders, too far forward extension on the handlebars. Refinements were started to address these issues, and the Empulse was revised accordingly.”
A very enlightening read for sure. The books were included in the swag bags given out at the 2012 Empulse R launch event, and I was lucky enough to have one sent to me directly from the good folks at Brammo. AFAIK the book is NOT for sale in the Brammo store, so getting your hands on one may involve pulling some of the right strings
…

Cool. Would be even cooler if Brammo released the whole thing as a PDF, assuming they don’t plan to sell it. Tragic when a perfectly good marketing vehicle is only seen by journalists (and yourself) who are often inundated with too much information.
Yeah Karl, I was thinking the same thing. I would imagine that they would have to have a digital version of some sort… pdf being ideal. That way everyone could enjoy it without the need for Brammo to ship it out to everyone. I will shoot them a message on Twitter about it.
